"Freedom from Problem Gambling."
This self-help workbook for problem gamblers, developed by the UCLA Gambling Studies Program, is a tool for assisting people who are motivated to stop gambling or to reduce the problems associated with gambling. The workbook is currently being evaluated for effectiveness and it is NOT a substitute for professional help. PDF copy.

Resource Center
The Resource Center at the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs maintains a comprehensive collection of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and treatment information.
The following information and services are provided to all California residents at no cost:
- Clearinghouse
- Search the Publications Catalog Online
- Full-service Library
- Telephone information and referral system
These services can be accessed by letter, fax, Internet, e-mail, telephone, or in person during the business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.
Technical Assistance and Training
The National Asian Pacific American Families Against Substance Abuse (NAPAFASA)
NAPAFASA is a national organization that prevents and reduces substance abuse in Asian American, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islander families and communities through research, advocacy, education and capacity building.
Services provided for government agencies, and private organizations include:- Technical assistance/consultation on topics such as Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) and mental health prevention and treatment; culturally-sensitive services; and historical/cultural understanding of API communities.
- Management/Coordination of multi-agency API ATOD-related projects.
- Social research and policy analysis concerning API populations.
- Advocacy and community organizations.
The National Asian Pacific American Families Against Substance Abuse (NAPAFASA), through a contract with the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, Office of Problem Gambling, offers Problem Gambling Prevention Technical Assistance and Training.
